Field Service Engineer

Job description:
The Field Service Engineer will provide on-site (in the field) service to external customers and when not on site, he will assist with the day-to-day technical support to the region. This includes technical offers treatment (RFQ’s and tenders), troubleshooting, failure diagnosis and will involve working directly with suppliers and customers.
Functions:
Provide a service report after the mission, including summary of the mission, issues encountered, and resolution of customer’s punch list as required.
Ensure that equipment is installed successfully and on schedule.
Be proactive in the improvement of the mechanical seal system and propose solution
Generate and present list of activities during customer kick-off meetings assist site assessments, walk-downs to understand customer requirements and to help propose solutions.
Assess Mechanical Seals problems and take actions to resolve promptly.
Oversee the full cycle of repair: disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and assembly.
Conduct or monitor specific tests and controls of Mechanical Seals
Work side-by-side with our customer’s personnel, and lead work crews as required.
Collaborate effectively with John Crane Sales to ensure a coordinated approach to serving customers.
Develop relationships with key customers to understand their needs, requirements, and ways of doing business.
Travel to customer locations is a common task and a top priority in this role to support, troubleshoot and repair of Mechanical Seals.
Occasionally, attend technical conferences, training seminars, etc
Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
Compliance with in-house Policies & Procedures.

Requirements:
University degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Engineering
Strong technical knowledge in Pumps and Seals.
Must be French and English speaking.
Communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.
Must be able to travel 60% of the time, with frequent overnight stays as required.
