Role Purpose
The Accounting Lead oversees and supervises core accounting functions. He/she is also responsible for ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies and procedures as well as local laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
· Analyze ledgers and accounts to allow the reconciliation of financial data on a timely manner.
· Ensure the company remains aware of its financial position on an ongoing basis
· . Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the accounting records and financial systems; Strengthen internal control measures. In collaboration with the Shared Service Center Team,
· oversee and validate the preparation of financial reports in line with group timelines and report to Country Management’s as and when needed.
· Ensure proper daily cash flow management and forecast in order to identify the company’s financial needs.
· Work closely with internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits, ensuring that accurate and timely information is provided at all times.
· Consult with tax advisors and keep abreast of tax related laws and regulations.
· Produce and validate the Ad Hoc reports and presentations upon management requests Monitor the country annual budget, highlight variances and recommend remedial actions as and when needed.
· Ensure compliance with taxation regulations, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)/International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and company procedures.
· Recruit, train, motivate and evaluate his / her team to ensure that the department has the necessary skill base and that staff are optimally motivated and enabled to maximize their potential and contribution to the company
· Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with emphasis on Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA is a plus
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar field Fluency in English Proficiency in MS Office
