The role ensures that SAP developments, enhancements, and integrations are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with best practices and international IT governance standards. The SAP Technical Lead provides technical direction to the SAP team and ensures high-quality deliverables that meet or exceed stakeholder expectations.Job Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and implementation of SAP technical solutions including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows (RICEF objects).Oversee ABAP development activities and ensure compliance with SAP development standards and naming conventions.Manage SAP technical documentation including functional specifications, technical specifications, code reviews, transport logs, and system configurations.Ensure all developments follow approved functional specifications and business requirements.Coordinate transport management and ensure proper migration of objects across Development, QA, and Production environments.Ensure that all technical objects are tested thoroughly before release to QA and Production environments.Review and approve technical designs to ensure performance optimization, scalability, and security compliance.Collaborate with functional consultants and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Manage SAP system integrations with third-party systems using APIs, IDOCs, RFCs, BAPIs, Web Services, and middleware platforms.Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure high availability and reliability.Ensure adherence to change management procedures and IT governance policies.Lead technical impact assessments for upgrades, patches, and enhancement packs.Support SAP upgrades, migrations, and implementation projects including S/4HANA transitions.Ensure that at least 90% of developments pass quality review and testing cycles during first submissionsMaintain proper documentation of all SAP technical developments and enhancements.Conduct regular code reviews and enforce development best practices.Ensure compliance with data security, authorization, and audit requirements.Participate in disaster recovery planning and system backup validation.Support integration of SAP with ERP and enterprise systems.Provide technical support during critical business cycles and month-end/year-end closing activities.Support implementation of IT security and HSE policies where applicable.Continuously evaluate new SAP technologies and recommend improvements to existing architecture.Job Knowledge & SkillsStrong expertise in SAP ABAP (Object-Oriented ABAP), SAP development tools, and debugging techniques.Experience with SAP modules such as FI/CO, MM, SD, HR, or others depending on business environment.Hands-on experience with SAP integrations (IDOCs, RFC, BAPI, OData, Web Services, APIs).Experience with SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, CDS Views, and SAP Gateway is highly preferred.Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA architecture and migration concepts.Strong understanding of SAP transport management system (TMS).Proficient in performance tuning, database optimization, and system troubleshooting.Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a deadline-driven environment.Job ExperienceMinimum 6–10 years of total SAP experience.At least 5 years of experience in SAP technical development.Minimum 2–3 years in a technical lead or supervisory role.Experience in full-cycle SAP implementation projects is highly preferred.EducationBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.SAP Certification in ABAP, S/4HANA, or relevant module is preferred.ITIL, PMP, or other relevant certifications are an advantage.
