Location: AlgeriaDepartment: ComplianceReports to: Chief Compliance OfficerJob SummaryWe are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Assistant to support the company’s compliance function in Algeria. This role is suitable for candidates with a legal or compliance background who demonstrate strong learning ability and can progressively take ownership of specific compliance areas.The position will focus on contract compliance review, day-to-day compliance support, and gradually managing compliance risks within assigned business functions or departments under the guidance of the Compliance Officer.Key Responsibilities1. Contract Compliance ReviewConduct compliance review of routine commercial contracts and agreements Identify potential compliance risks and provide preliminary recommendations Escalate complex or high-risk issues to the Compliance Officer 2. Compliance Support & Risk MonitoringAssist in identifying and tracking compliance risks in daily business operations Support the implementation of compliance policies and procedures Help maintain compliance documentation and records 3. Assigned Compliance Area ManagementUnder guidance, take responsibility for a specific compliance area (e.g., sales, procurement, or third-party management) Support or independently handle compliance matters for an assigned department Provide practical compliance advice to internal stakeholders 4. Third-Party & Basic Due Diligence SupportAssist in conducting basic due diligence on business partners (distributors, agents, vendors) Collect and organize relevant compliance information Flag potential risks for further review 5. Training & Awareness (Support Role)Assist in organizing compliance training sessions Support internal communication on compliance policies and requirements 6. Internal CoordinationWork closely with business, finance, HR, and procurement teams Support compliance reviews, audits, and internal checksQualifications & RequirementsEducationBachelor’s degree or above in Law, Compliance, Business Administration, or a related field Legal qualification or certification (preferred but not mandatory) ExperienceMinimum 3 years of relevant experience in legal, compliance, or risk management roles Experience in multinational corporations or ICT/telecom industry is preferred Familiarity with working in emerging markets or high-risk jurisdictions is a plus Skills & CompetenciesStrong learning ability and willingness to grow in compliance fieldSolid understanding of compliance frameworks and international best practices (e.g., anti-bribery and anti-corruption, third-party risk management) Knowledge of Algerian laws and regulations related to anti-corruption, public procurement, and commercial activities Strong contract review and legal analysis skills Ability to identify risks and provide practical, business-oriented solutions High ethical standards, integrity, and professional judgment Language RequirementsFluent in English and French (written and spoken) Chinese proficiency is a strong advantage Other RequirementsStrong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under pressure Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Preferred AttributesExperience in compliance investigations or forensic reviews Familiarity with compliance tools and systems Experience in designing or implementing compliance programs
