Are you good in planning and controlling projects cost, you're definitely on the good side UCC Algeria is inviting you to apply Job SummaryThe Cost Control Engineer is responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling project costs to ensure delivery within the approved budget while maintaining project quality and schedule requirements. The role ensures accurate cost forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis in alignment with company policies and international cost management standards. The Cost Control Engineer supports project teams by providing timely financial insights and implementing effective cost control procedures to meet or exceed stakeholder expectations.Job Responsibilities Prepare and monitor project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts.Track project expenditures and compare actual costs against approved budgets.Develop and maintain cost control systems, procedures, and reporting templates.Analyze cost variances and identify root causes of deviations from budget.Prepare monthly cost reports including commitments, accruals, forecasts, and earned value analysis.Review subcontractor invoices and supplier payments to ensure alignment with contractual terms and project progress.Coordinate with Planning and Procurement teams to ensure cost alignment with project schedules and material procurement plans.Ensure proper documentation of all financial records, commitments, and change orders.Monitor project progress and evaluate cost performance using key performance indicators (KPIs).Support change management processes by evaluating variation orders and assessing cost impacts.Participate in project review meetings and provide financial status updates to Project Management.Ensure compliance with company financial policies and audit requirements.Prepare cost breakdown structures (CBS) aligned with work breakdown structures (WBS).Review and validate contractor claims and variations in coordination with Contracts and Commercial teams.Ensure that 90% of cost reports are submitted accurately and on time during first issuance.Assist in risk analysis and contingency planning related to project cost exposure.Maintain cost databases and historical records for benchmarking and future project estimation.Support tendering and estimation teams by providing historical cost data and analysis.Ensure proper tracking of committed costs versus actual expenditures.Monitor material consumption and labor productivity rates to identify improvement opportunities.Assist in final account preparation and project close-out financial reporting.Support implementation of ERP systems (preferably SAP) for cost tracking and financial reporting.Contribute to compliance with HSE and company integrated management system (IMS) policies.Job Knowledge & SkillsStrong knowledge of cost control principles, budgeting, forecasting, and earned value management (EVM).Understanding of construction contracts, commercial terms, and variation management.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.Experience with Primavera P6 for cost-loaded schedules is an advantage.ERP knowledge (preferably SAP) is highly preferred.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to interpret project schedules, BOQs, and technical documents.Strong communication and reporting skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.Job ExperienceMinimum 6/8 years of total experience.At least 5 years of relevant experience in cost control within construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects.CompetenciesCost Management & Financial Analysis Budgeting & Forecasting Variance AnalysisCommercial AwarenessQuality & Accuracy FocusTime ManagementStakeholder CommunicationAgilityEducationBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.Professional certifications such as PMP, CCP (Certified Cost Professional), or equivalent are an advantage.
