Main Mission:The Telecom Back Office Engineer Transmission is responsible for overseeing and providing technical support for telecom transmission equipment. The role involves the management, configuration, and maintenance of the infrastructure necessary for data transmission and communications. The engineer also plays a key role in incident resolution and the implementation of technical solutions to ensure service availability and performance.Key Responsibilities:Transmission Equipment Management:Monitor the status of transmission equipment (radio, fiber optics, leased lines, etc.).Configure and set up equipment in collaboration with operational teams.Update equipment (firmware, patches, etc.).Conduct quality checks on transmission links and perform necessary testing.Technical Support and Incident Resolution:Analyze transmission-related incidents and implement corrective solutions.Escalate complex issues to higher-level teams or vendors.Perform in-depth diagnostics to identify root causes of failures.Network Performance Optimization:Continuously monitor the performance of the transmission network.Implement recommendations to optimize transmission link quality and bandwidth.Analyze performance reports and propose improvements.Documentation and Reporting:Prepare technical reports detailing interventions, incidents, and solutions implemented.Regularly update internal databases and technical documentation related to transmission infrastructure.Prepare performance and availability analysis reports for management.Collaboration with Operational and Project Teams:Coordinate with field teams for the installation and maintenance of transmission equipment.Participate in network expansion or upgrade projects, particularly related to transmission infrastructure.Supplier and Contractor Management:Interact with equipment suppliers and service providers.Verify compliance with equipment and services provided by external partners.Required Skills:Technical Knowledge:Expertise in transmission technologies (MPLS, Ethernet, SDH, fiber optics, WDM, etc.).Familiarity with transmission equipment (routers, switches, fiber optic equipment, etc.).Understanding of IP networks and communication protocols.Experience in network management and troubleshooting (incident diagnostics, log analysis, etc.).Analytical Skills:Ability to diagnose complex transmission issues and provide quick, effective solutions.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Tools and Software:Proficiency with network management and monitoring tools.Experience using ticketing systems and incident tracking software.Knowledge of network performance monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, MRTG, etc.).Communication and Relationship Management:Strong communication skills, both oral and written.Ability to work autonomously and prioritize tasks effectively.Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.Desired Profile:Education:Master’s degree or higher (Telecommunications, Networks, Computer Science, or Engineering).Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, certifications from providers like Cisco, Huawei, Juniper) are a plus.Experience:Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar telecom role (ideally in transmission and network infrastructure).Experience with incident management and working with complex network infrastructures.
