Description
The Digital Communications Specialist (DCS) will play a key role in World Learning Algeria’s external communications and also serve as a regional point-person for WL’s global communications needs. The DCS is intensely focused on advancing WL’s prominence as a regional leader in education and international development. He/she will also be a key leader in bringing efficient digital work solutions for effective communication and collaboration across WL’s sites in the region. The position is based in Algiers, Algeria with possible travel to project sites within Algeria and occasionally to other WL offices. The position reports to the Algeria Field Director.

Mission :
  • Strategy: In collaboration with WL Algeria’s leadership team, WL’s global Home Office communications team, and other WL field offices, devise and implement complementary national and regional strategies for digital communications and collaboration. Coach relevant staff and partners in strategy implementation.
  • Visibility: Ensure maximum visibility of WL activities in Algeria and the region. Via effective marketing of project activities and events in online and traditional media, help WL to maintain and enhance its reputation as a thought and implementation leader in its key thematic areas.
  • Engagement and Mobilization: Identify and liaise with local partners and target audiences to strengthen the network of support for WL initiatives while identifying opportunities to expand WL’s impact in Algeria, the region, and globally. Help expand WL’s network of influence and diversified sources of funding and support.
  • IT Collaboration: To complement external communications responsibilities, advise leadership and coach staff and partners in effective use of digital collaboration tools to improve internal communication and collaboration within WL and among its partner network.


Profil :
  • University degree with 1-3 years experience managing digital communication strategies.
  • Proven track record of effective online marketing campaigns.
  • Cutting-edge proficiency with digital communications tools and platforms.
  • Demonstrated understanding of international development priorities.
  • Ability to travel within Algeria and the region when needed.
  • English, French, and Arabic language proficiency.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate people and processes.
