Description
The Quality Control Leader reports to the Quality Manager. The purpose of this position is to ensure quality and hygiene of the final product and the implementation, management, and compliance with the company’s integrated system of standards and procedures.
The role of Quality Control Leader is based on the following activities:
TEAM MANAGEMENT:
Coordinates the team effectively, maintaining discipline, managing priorities, eliminating bottlenecks and training quality staff on how to execute their tasks properly. Ensures that Quality Control standard methods and procedures are updated in terms of efficiency and compliance with customer requirements.
COMMUNICATION and COOPERATION:
Guarantees proper information sharing, reports relevant issues to the Quality Manager,
Communicates and coordinates with Quality Control team to ensure quality and hygiene of the final product.
Promotes successful long-term business strategies by effective, open two-way communication and feedback.
Ensures smooth integration and communication with other functions.
QUALITY CHECKS:
Performs controls according to the quality control plan for each product and during technical interventions and product industrializations using lab instruments (scale, caliper, thickness gauge, top load tester, torque meter, etc.). Sorts defective bottles, contributes to decisions on discarding or keeping batches and provides support in the evaluation of quality problems.
Ensures incoming material quality, verifies technical documentation, and ensures that all data about non-conformities are constantly updated, accurate and available.
PRODUCTION MATERIALS CHECKS:
Checks incoming material against quality specifications and verifies documentation compliance.
QUALITY DOCUMENTS AND REPORT WRITING:
Fills in and supervises the correct completion and archive of quality documents to ensure accuracy as per company standards.
Prepares quality reports collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
QUALITY CONTROL INSTRUMENTS:
Performs calibrations and cleaning of measuring instruments in production or in the Lab. Optimizes the quality instrument programming the CMM machine.
5S STANDARDS:
Promotes 5S principles and ensures their application.
ISO STANDARDS:
Participates in internal and external quality audits.
HSE STANDARDS:
Follows and supervises the application of safety rules according to company policies and regulations.
Maintains order, organization and cleanliness in all assigned areas, working in line with correct workplace hygiene practices, with the aim to be an example to others.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor/Master degree in Process Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or equivalent field.
Minimum 3 years experience working in the Quality department of an ISO certified manufacturing company, preferably in the plastic or food sector.
Technical Skills
:
Good level in English (Spoken and written) -
Mandatory/Obligatoire
Good knowledge of statistical process control and statistical analysis
Good knowledge of ISO standards
Good knowledge of plastic molding technologies (EBM and/or SBM and/or IM)
Good knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment rules and practices
