Job description:The Roaming Back Office Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining international roaming services by monitoring service performance, troubleshooting complex roaming issues, and ensuring service quality across CS and PS domains. The role involves coordinating with internal teams and international roaming partners, validating roaming configurations and changes, and handling high-priority incidents to ensure seamless customer experience.Key Responsibilities:Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve international roaming incidents through detailed root cause analysis to ensure service continuity and quality.Analyze roaming KPIs and service performance, identify trends and anomalies, and contribute to continuous service optimization and process improvement.Coordinate with roaming partners, vendors, and internal technical teams to resolve escalated roaming issues within agreed SLA timelines.Manage and support signaling connectivity and protocols related to roaming services, including SS7, MAP, CAMEL, SCCP, and Diameter.Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Circuit Switched (CS) core network nodes, including MSC, HLR, and related voice and SMS roaming elements.Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Packet Switched (PS) core network nodes, including SGSN, GGSN, MME, HSS, PGW, and data roaming elements.Manage and optimize roaming routing and interconnection, including STP, DRA, global title translation, IPX connectivity, and traffic steering.Support the onboarding, configuration, and validation of new roaming partners and services, including Voice, SMS, Data, LTE, and VoLTE roaming.Conduct end-to-end roaming testing for voice, SMS, data, and supplementary services to ensure service readiness and compliance with standards.Validate network changes, upgrades, and patches to ensure there is no negative impact on international roaming services and overall service quality.Required skills:Strong understanding of international roaming architecture and services (Voice, SMS, Data, LTE/VoLTE, 2G–5G).Solid knowledge of telecom signaling and roaming protocols (SS7, MAP, CAMEL, Diameter).Hands-on experience with core network nodes and roaming platforms (CS & PS domains).Proven troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills in live roaming environments.Good understanding of roaming routing, interconnection, and IPX connectivity concepts.Experience with end-to-end roaming testing and service validation.Ability to manage incidents, escalations, and SLA-driven issues, including VIP cases.Strong communication and coordination skills with internal teams, vendors, and roaming partners
